How Gotta City became famous – Madocho, Stoopid Boy
Gotta City, became famous on December 2020. Gotta City is a hood located just after Donholm, Shujaa Mall on your way to Kayole Mihango. The city became famous because it produced one of the most prolific and outspoken sheng’ writer/master Madocho wa Kanairo. Madocho Kanairo is best known to introduce new sheng such as “Monchoka”, “Kanairo”, “Banja” and more. Other proud Gotta City talents include; Stoopid Boy, Liyetin and Pingo thanks to Mungai Eve. Mungai Eve is one of the most talented journalist in Kenya. She is the pioneer of Gotta City talent in Music.
How Gotta City was discovered
When Kenyan Youtuber Mungai Eve stepped in Gotta City on December 2020 little information was available about the area. She interviewed Madocho first on the first day then on the second day she made a follow-up after fans asked more information about the area and why they were yet to pursue music.
Mbogi Genje Vs Gotta City
Gotta City artist Madocho revealed that he used to help Mbogi Genje come up with creative sheng in their songs. Also Stoopid Boy added that at one time Mbogi Genje used his lyrics without his permission. After this revelation, Mbogi Genje replied to the allegations and we had the birth of “Ngumi Jamo” and “Ngumi Mbwegze”. Fans who supported Mbogi Genje were on the “Ngumi Mbwegze” side while fans who supported Gotta city were on the “Ngumi Jamo” side.
Mbogi Genje Disses Gotta City – After a lot of online rants at the time, Mbogi Genje made one of the biggest mistakes dissing Gotta City.
Gotta City Hits back at Mbogi Genje
Gotta City are very lucky, they were on the receiving end they had received a lot of attention by the media. I mean clout. Gotta City used the clout they received to build their music career, releasing back to back hit songs. Their debut song is called “Ngumi ni Jamo” released on 26 November 2021.
