Wakadinali 3 songs removed from YouTube by Producer Afvrika
Kenyan artist Wakadinali is facing a major setback after “Geri Inengi”, “Nyara Nyara” and “Extra Pressure” were removed from YouTube. The songs were removed following a copyright claim by producer Afvrika real name Victor Otieno Owitti. Producer Afvrika claims that Wakadinali did not honor their revenue agreement. This led to this situation.
Who is Producer Afvrika?
Afvrika real name Victor Otieno Owitti is a Kenyan producer, sample creator, sound designer, and beat maker. Afrika is the founder of BeatDuka, an online shop where he sells his beats. He is best known to produce some of Kenya’s top songs including the Wakadinali song “Geri Inengi”.
Also, Afvrika has worked with various Kenyan artists.
What Happened?
According to my research, there is a certain percentage of revenue a producer receives after a song is published on streaming platforms. If an artist doesn’t honor this agreement an artist might take down the videos.
This might be what happened to Wakadinali’s songs. Wakadinali are yet to address the issue.
What Next?
Since the fans had already fallen in love with these songs, it is high time for Wakadinali to make up with the producer, sort out the issues and get the songs back. Geri Inengi had close to 7 Million views on YouTube and it is one of Wakadinali’s top songs in their musical career.
