Ares66 has been shaping the Kenyan music sound crafting beats and producing music that is timeless. This year, Ares66 surprised many fans with his amazing projects such as his debut album “Gangsta Points” which was released in January 2024 and trending songs such as “Kichele“, “Team Kumalo” and more.
Choosing to work with only a few A-List artists in the country, such as Wakadinali, Khaligraph Jones and Dyana Cods. Aress 66 has not only set himself apart as an extraodinary producer but also master when it comes to music production. For instance this year, Ares66 had a successful career having produced “Maproso” by Wakadinali and “Set It” by Dyana Cods featuring Ajay, Buruklyn Boyz. “Set It” and “Maproso” attained number one and two respectively in the Youtube charts trending songs in Kenya.
In my research in knowing the man behind the “Big Beats Afriq” tagline – “Ares66”. I discovered his amazing stories which he shared with Mwafreeka, in a three hours long podcast at IKO NINI YouTube channel. Early Days in Music
Ares66 revealed that he had a passion in music production at a young age. His interest in music fueled him to link up with Khaligraph Jones and Wakadinali producing their musical projects even before getting into the limelight. Working with Khaligraph Jones was an amazing opportunity for Ares66. He got to learn many things along the way perfecting his skills as a sound engineer. In his early-career days his top-notch work ethic and music production skills would help him link up with Wakadinali and Zoza Nation artists whom he has been working with ever since.

From teenage years, Ares66 has been passionate about music, he debuted his musical career in the early 2000’s. Ares66 started releasing official songs when he released his first song “Team Kumalo” featuring Wakadinali artist Domani Munga. Aress 66 would later release his first album “Gangsta Points” and the “Tinoms” EP in 2024. Ares66 has so far collaborated with artists such as Wakadinali, Dyana Cods, Elisha Elai, Masterpiece and Buruklyn Boyz among others.
Big Beats Afriq
Located in the hearts of Umoja, Big Beats Afriq has grown to be a household name in the Kenyan music industy, working with artists such as; Khaligraph Jones, Ridiq King Shatta, Young Hazer, Scar Mkadinali, Domani Munga, Sewersydaa and Dyana Cods.
In an instagram post by Are66 posted on 22 October 2019, Ares thanks BluInk Records manager – Francis Shirekuli for making Big Beats success. Ares66 acknowledges Shirekuli’s efforts in making Big Beats Afriq come to existence as a founding member. Actually, Shirekuli was one of the early investors in Big Beats Afriq as revealed by Ares66.
