G.K Nyambura real name Gladys Nyambura Kabira (born August 3, 1999) is an award-winning Kenyan celebrity, storyteller, podcaster, YouTuber, and influencer based in Nairobi. GK Nyambura rose to fame in 2020 during the Corona pandemic. She has risen to become one of Kenya’s most popular podcasters and storytellers. You can liken GK Nyambura to Abel Mutua when talking about stories.

Early Life

GK Nyambura has always been a bright student at school. She grew up with her family in Nairobi. Her parents have only one child.

Education & School Life

She went to Newlight School for her primary education and then proceeded to Alliance Girls for her high school education (2015–2019). After finishing high school, she enrolled at Nairobi University in 2020 to pursue a law degree, as well as at KCA University to study accounting.

Career

Nyambura’s passion for storytelling and sharing information started way back at Alliance Girls High School. At only 16 years old and in Form 2, Nyambura had already started her creative journey, which she shares in her blog. During this time, she used to write, sing, play instruments, and even participate in extracurricular activities at school.

She had a passion for the arts and media. She once led her school to victory in a trivia contest on the KTN live show. She was recognized by her teachers as a bright and hardworking student.

YouTube

At the age of 21, during the 2020 Corona pandemic, GK Nyambura started her YouTube channel called GK Nyambura. She posted her first YouTube video on April 26, 2020, telling a story about how she donated blood in high school.

Her YouTube channel has accumulated more than 37K subscribers since she started. She is among the top content creators in Kenya.

The Bored Cast

Nyambura founded The Bored Cast in November 2020 to raise awareness about mental health. As the podcast tagline goes:

“Wholesome content for the eradication of seemingly incurable sadness”
