Miondoko Meaning & Best Miondoko Dance

Miondoko also known as ‘kale kadance” is a dance style popularized in Kenya in 2022. The dance style was invented in May 2022 and has been taking over ever since. It started with the Reggae songs ‘Moonlight lover’ by UB40 and ‘Go Pato’ by Pato Banton. Now the songs have gained popularity among Kenyan youths.
Meaning of Miondoko
Miondoko is a Swahili word which means ‘Movement’. The ‘movement‘ involves moving your head, hands and body while dancing to a song. So Miondoko was now coined to mean a the dance style that involves movement of head, hands and body.
Who Started Miondoko
Miondoko was started by Jeff Kirago also known as Solo in May 2022. In a viral video, Solo was seen dancing Miondoko before the video became a viral dance. Since then, many Kenyan youths have been captured dancing the reggea song Moonlight Lover by UB40. The style is unique and many people started doing Tiktok Videos showing their prowess.

Just like any other popular dance style, there are masterminds behind it. In Kenya we have a crew called Miondoko Masters made up of Solo Gee, Dabon_shedrack also known as Miondoko Master, Simo KK and Miondoko Mistress also known as Shakuan among others. They now have found passion in entertaining their audience in popular joints in Nairobi.
