“Grace” Album Review
“Grace” as an album is not only love-filled but also a masterpiece that showcases Otile Brown’s songwriting skills and musical journey. Otile gives his fans a glimpse of how he views life from his end and collaborates with top global artists to create a historical album.
Otile is best known for his smooth and fine Swahili lyrics and is always on top of his game when it comes to his choice of words in his songs.
After carefully listening and transcribing all the songs in the album, I can say the album leaves the listener fulfilled, healed, and grateful. Otile Brown sings about his real life; he has experienced heartbreaks from past relationships. These and many past experiences help Otile Brown document and give hope to his fans through music.
One notable song in the album is “Dear X,” which is relatable, as we all sometimes go through relationship setbacks and heartbreaks.
Other songs in the album, such as “Umenipendea Nini” featuring Barakah the Prince, and “Loving You” featuring Femi One, talk about love. Also, Otile recruits Boutross in the upbeat song “Buss It,” making fans want to party.
